With a 7:30 a.m. call on April 2nd from the mailman telling us he was holding Abby's call in his hands, I was immediately sick, worried, happy, scared, elated, shocked, proud and overjoyed. This white envelope would determine where she was going to spend the next 1-1/2 years of her life.

It's here! |
We hung a map in the house with everyone's guesses labeled. It was fun to see all the places people guessed - it covered the entire world.
We were blessed to face-time our dear friends that are currently mission presidents in the Congo, Africa. Sister Karol Cook was so excited and told us we could call her back when it was time, even though it would be 2 a.m. her time.
We gathered friends and family at 7 p.m. and watched as Abby SLOOOOWLYYYY S. L. O. W. L. Y. opened the envelope and started reading.
It was a moment I wish I could freeze in time. Everyone in the room was quietly waiting with anticipation; we couldn't wait to hear her read where she would be called. I could see her eyes move ahead on her call and then she SMILED and read ...
"Dear Sister Wright:
You are hereby called to serve a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. You are assigned to labor in the England London Mission..."
WOW... England! I never would have guessed, however several people did, including; Nan, Coach Ace (Sophie's Basketball Coach), Coach Suzi Iverson (Abby's Soccer Coach). It was a wonderful night full of cheers, smiles, hugs and tears.
