Ice cream, Exchanges, and the Sikh Temple

Hey!!

This week has been good! It has been crazy and I have definitely learned a lot.
On Tuesday and Wednesday we had to arrange for blessings for two
different people. The first was for Kizzy, she recently had family
struggles because they aren't super happy with her decision to be
baptised. She got asked to leave the place she was living because of
those family struggles. So the Elders from G1 came to give her one.
They also met us on Wednesday morning to give a Less Active member's
son's girlfriend (sorry that was confusing) a blessing because she is
having medical troubles with her baby (that is still in her belly). I
had a testimony and knowledge of the priesthood before, but recently
having to rely on the Elders has strengthened that testimony so much.
I know that the priesthood has been restored and that through it we
can receive blessings directly from God. And that because of a prophet
we have the keys on the earth which gives us the authority to use that
power.

On Friday, we were in Illord on exchange! I spent the day with Sister
Ranck. We saw lots of Less Actives and talked to some crazy people. As
you do. I learned so much about how I can become a better missionary
and that no matter what there are things we can do to have the spirit
with us more powerfully. Also, I cut her hair. It went fairly well.
Maybe I should just go to beauty school when I get home?? 😉

Saturday we came home and we had a pretty busy day but had found no
new investigators for the week. We were having a competition with the
G1 elders (Elder Cook and Elder Stoor) of who could find the could
find the most investigators that day. The winner got ice cream, so
anyone who knows me knew that I couldn't lose. Like there was no
chance of us losing. So we found a couple new people to teach, but the
coolest guy was named Trian. And he is a miracle!! He is older and
from Romania, he speaks only a little English. However, he speaks
Italian, French, Spanish, and Romanian. So he can understand a lot
when Sister Cardoso speaks in Portugese! HOW COOL IS THAT? He came to
church with us the next morning and we are meeting up with him
tomorrow. ☺️

Today, we got the ice cream that the Elders owed us. 😏 and we went to
a Sikh Templein Gravesend!! It was beautiful!

Anyway, love you all so much! I love this work, I love the Saviour,
and I love this gospel! I'm so grateful for the opportunity to be able
to serve full time.
Til next week,

KIZZY IS THE BOMB

Hello my people!!

So this week has been SO AWESOME!!

To start out, Kizzy got baptised! WAHOOOO!!!
Fun fact: Kizzy is vegan.
So we (Kizzy, Sister Cardoso, a member named Tracy, and I) made vegan
food on Friday for her baptism on Saturday! That stuff is so good... I
told her I would consider going vegan it I wasn't on my mission. Then
I remembered milk... And I think I've overcome my desire to go vegan.
My mom did always say I would make a good vegetarian though.
Her baptism was perfect! Lots of people were there, the water was
warm, she went all the way under the first time, it really couldn't
have gone better! Elder Stoor, one of the Elders from the Gillingham
1st ward, baptised her. She is now preparing to go to the temple and
is so excited to learn more about the gospel and the Book of Mormon.
She just texted us last night telling us how much she loves 2 Nephi 2.
Man she is so good!! I firmly believe her and I will be friends
forever.
Then we had another miracle on Friday. These people called us one
night early in the week at 1:00am. It woke me up, I didn't recognise
the number and didn't answer it of course, and just went back to bed.
Then the next day the same number texted us and said they wanted to
meet us, we were kind of scared to be honest but decided we would go
meet with them. We went with Brother Mannouch (ward mission leader) on
Friday. It was Chas, his sister Rebecca, and her partner Tom. They
were so sincere and so excited to learn about the Book of Mormon! We
even put Tom and Rebecca on date to be baptised on May 28th! The Lord
is definitely in the details of this work and we couldn't do it
without him!!
Sorry this is short, we are going to go golfing for one of the Elders
birthdays! Haha it should be interesting.
I love this work, I love the Lord, and I love all of you. I'm
especially grateful for how blessed we are to have temples on the
earth. I know without them and the work that goes on within them, we
wouldn't be able to return to live with Heavenly Father. Will you all
please go once for me? I miss it so much.

YOU GUYS ARE SO AWESOME! Thank you for your prayers and the love and
support we feel from you.

Always in Canterbury.

Hello everyone!!!

This week has been somewhat uneventful, so this might be short. However, we are doing great!! Sister Cardoso is settling in and we have just gotten right to work!
We have SO MUCH fun together! I love her so much and she is hilarious!!

We found a couple new friends this week, Elle and Alex, and we are excited to see them next week! We also got a little creative in our reactivation work, there is a girl here named Clarice who is less active, but her parents are super active and great! We go to their home for dinner but Clarice always runs away when we start to give a lesson or anything like that. She is also going to college for hairdressing, so Sister Cardoso and I came up with the perfect solution! If she dyed my hair, she would HAVE to sit and listen to us 😏😂 so I took one for the team. But she definitely felt the spirit and it was all worth it! Side note to that story: we started doing my hair a little later than planned because both of us were running late, so I had to come home with the foils still in. That was interesting!

I guess I should also explain the subject line of this email. We went to Canterbury last monday for p-day, awesome as always except they wouldn't let us in the cathedral 😔 then we were back there on Friday for Zone Meeting, then AGAIN on Saturday because Kizzy came with us to a baptism they were having there!

And the best news of the whole week: KIZZY IS GETTING BAPTISED NEXT SATURDAY!!! Keep her in your prayers and I will tell you the story of her baptism next week!

I love you all so much! This week I'm especially grateful for the Book or Mormon! We can change so much as we take what we learn  and apply it into our lives. Isn't that exciting?! I love this gospel, I love this work, I love my Saviour!!

IM A MUM! ❤️

Hello my peeps!!

I love you all so much! WASN'T CONFERENCE AMAZING?! I learned so much!! I'm so grateful that even though I'm all the way across the pond, I can still hear the prophets and apostles and receive guidance and direction through the spirit. I can't wait to study each talk so I can learn more! We all LOVED Elder Stevenson's talk about keys, and we decided this week as we go finding we are going to ask people about their keys, to their cars and their homes, and then relate it to how important it is that we have the priesthood keys restored to the earth!

As you all know, I got my trainee this week and you guys she is AMAZING! Like so amazing it's not even funny. Her name is Sister Cardoso and she is from Brazil. She has never  taken an English class and was only in the MTC for 3 weeks but speaks so well!! The spirit is so strong when she teaches and she has so much knowledge. She is so excited to serve the Lord and is so diligent! I'm pretty sure President sent her here to train me! We have so much fun together!

When we went to get them we met at St Pancras station like normal transfers, then Sister Johannes (aka Jopanna) and I rode the tubes to South Kensington. We were having the trainers meeting and eating lunch like normal, assuming we would be waiting for them for about another hour or two hours when the Assistants, Elder Williams and Elder Chronister, ran into the cultural hall shouting "THEY'RE HERE" we got shuffled out the back door and hid in a stairwell for about 15 minutes while they all came in until we could go out into another room while they had their new missionary meeting. 😂 it was classic.

We have been so busy since Wednesday! Running everywhere and teaching everyone and flip it's crazy! We are working really closely with Kizzy right now. She is seriously my favourite person! I have never bonded this much with an investigator ever. She isn't just someone I'm teaching, or even another child of God, she is my friend. I know I'm here for a reason, and if she is the only reason, then so be it! She teaches me a lot and I hope I teach her the same! I have a feeling we will be friends for a LONG TIME ☺️

Well, I should end this before it turns into a book. I love you all so much! I know without a doubt that the prophets and apostles are called of God and hold all the keys necessary for us to receive the ordinances that enable us to walk back into the presence of our Heavenly Father. This gospel is the only thing that can bring real hope and peace into our lives. I know the Saviour lives. He loves me and He loves each of you. He stands by us everyday as we face the crazy things life throws at us. The Book of Mormon literally teaches us EVERYTHING and I have especially seen that this week.

Love you all lots!!
