Choose the "Wright" & Hold to the "Rod"

Hello!!
Well this week has been so crazy!!
Moving back to Colchester has been incredible! I really do feel like
I'm coming home. I love this place and I love this people. Sunday was
like a dream come true to see everyone again!!
My companion is Sister Rodriguez from Texas, and we have SO MUCH fun
together! She is incredible and I learn so much from her everyday.
Sadly, she is going home at the end of this transfer, so we have a
goal to get a baptism before then. PRAY FOR US!!
I moved here on Wednesday and we have been working hard since the
moment I got here. We have found lots of new friends this week and we
are excited for them in the weeks to come.
One of them was a HUGE miracle. The sisters had met Thelma's mom,
Doris, on Monday before I got here, and had scheduled to go see her on
Saturday. When we got there, Doris wasn't home but Thelma was. We
talked to her on the doorstep for a while then she finally let us in.
We talked with her about hope through Jesus Christ and how we can find
so much truth in the Book of Mormon. We got to the end of our
discussion and she said "you know, I usually never open the door for
people like you, I don't know why I let you in." Then we were able to
bear testimony about how the Holy Ghost works and how God knows her
individually. It was powerful.
I'm sure there was lots more that happened this week, but I can't
remember them all right now. (Don't worry mom, I'm keeping a journal)
I'm so grateful to be able to serve back in Colchester! I must have
done something right for the Lord to put me back here. I'm so grateful
to be able to do his work in his way. We see so many miracles everyday
it's impossible to count them all. From having a bus be at the stop
right when we need it, to meeting people like Thelma, I know the
Lord's hand is in His work. I know the Book of Mormon is true, and if
you don't read it everyday then you're missin out!! Seriously, that
book has changed my life. I'm so grateful for all your love and
prayers. I love my Saviour more than I can say.
Peace out peeps.

We were walking and talking about charity (mostly how we need more of it) and saw a 3-legged cat and felt so much charity for it that we figured we should capture the moment...... We failed.
But we will always remember our friend. #TheCatThatTaughtUsCharity

Going... Going... Going... Gone.

Hey!!

This won't be too long, cause it's transfers week. I think I say that
every email will be short but they never actually end up being short.
😬 sorry. For all of you that I was able to see on Sunday: long time,
no see. 😂

We have had an alright week! Lots of finding and visiting recent
converts and less actives. Kizzy and Roger and doing great! This week
we were able to bring a less active to church with us who hadn't been
in over 15 years!!! It was incredible. ☺️

Now the news you have all been waiting for..... IM MOVING!!!! I'm so
sad to leave. I have come to love G2 and it's been hard saying
goodbye. But I do know some of the friendships I've made here will
last a lifetime and I'm grateful for that. I will be going.... BACK TO
COLCHESTER! Yes, you read that right. In the Colchester ward there are
3 sets of missionaries, elders and then 2 sets of sisters. I will be
in Colchester 2 sisters instead of Colchester 3 like last time, so I
will be in a different flat. But other than that it will all be the
same. Although I'm sad to leave Gillingham I am so excited to go back
to Colchester. I love everyone there! My companion will be Sister
Rodrigues! I have met her once or twice and she is amazing! I'm
excited! 👏🏼

Well I'm so grateful to be a missionary and serve the Lord. I'm
learning the blessings of being able to give myself completely to the
work. There is honestly nothing better. I love my saviour, Jesus
Christ, and the gift of being able to wear his name on and in my
heart. I love this work, I love this gospel, I love the Lord, and I
love all of you!!

Hello from the other siiiiiiide

Hey peeps!!

Hope you all had a great week!! We definitely did. It was a crazy one
though. We had the three week meeting on Wednesday and interviews on
Thursday, which means we had to fit all the work we would normally do
in one week into 4 days. We were basically chickens with our heads cut
off.

So Wednesday we had the three week missionary meeting in London. It is
where the new missionaries meet and are trained and us trainers are
given trainings as well. (Wow that was a lot of the word training) It
was long, but good. We had some great trainings and learned about
obedience and planning. The three week meeting is generally the same,
so I've listened to the same trainings a few times. This time the
spirit taught me something different, as I sat there I realised that
these things are important in life and not just in missionary work.
Obedience, obviously. But planning is something that we can't live
without in missionary work and should be the same in life. We need to
set goals and make plans or we will never progress to what our
Heavenly Father wants us to be.

Thursday we had interviews and WOW! The spirit was SO STRONG!!! We got
home after and we were EXHAUSTED because the spirit was so strong. We
were given a training on becoming consecrated missionaries and I
thought about becoming; becoming better missionaries, becoming better
friends, becoming better family members, and becoming better people. I
realised that when I step off the plane no one will see how many
people we taught or found a week, or how many baptisms we had in a
certain area, but only what I have become. I have changed a lot since
July 2, 2014 when I first stepped on a plane to London. But I have so
much more to change before I come back, and I'm so grateful and
humbled to be able to have the opportunity to change those things
because of the gift of the atonement.

Sadly this week we decided that a lot of our investigators weren't
progressing, and that we only have a certain amount of time to be
here. Our time is so precious so we prayed about it and dropped almost
all the people we were teaching. Sister Cardoso was having a hard time
with it because she felt like we were failing, and it was only when
she said that that I realised this is my favourite time in missionary
work!!! Because now we will find with our whole hearts and might and
strength, and now that we are desperate to find people to teach the
Lord will trust us with those who are prepared. I also realised we
should be like that all the time!! So I'm working on that too.

Cool story for the week: Kizzy got asked to leave the place she was
living (as said in previous email) and she had to be out by today. Her
aunt came into her room last night and said a lot of mean things and
asked for her house key. Kizzy was crying and praying all night to
know what she should do, she closed her prayer and not 30 seconds
later the Relief Society president texted her and said there was a
member that she could stay with. Not only that but the member is also
VEGAN!!! God is so good and prayers are answered.

Well, this email has been a lot of reflection about this week and the
changes I am excited to make, but I hope it helped one of you out in
some way!!
I love you all so much! I love this work and I love this gospel. I
love my Saviour and I am so grateful for the atonement!!

Ice cream, Exchanges, and the Sikh Temple

Hey!!

This week has been good! It has been crazy and I have definitely learned a lot.
On Tuesday and Wednesday we had to arrange for blessings for two
different people. The first was for Kizzy, she recently had family
struggles because they aren't super happy with her decision to be
baptised. She got asked to leave the place she was living because of
those family struggles. So the Elders from G1 came to give her one.
They also met us on Wednesday morning to give a Less Active member's
son's girlfriend (sorry that was confusing) a blessing because she is
having medical troubles with her baby (that is still in her belly). I
had a testimony and knowledge of the priesthood before, but recently
having to rely on the Elders has strengthened that testimony so much.
I know that the priesthood has been restored and that through it we
can receive blessings directly from God. And that because of a prophet
we have the keys on the earth which gives us the authority to use that
power.

On Friday, we were in Illord on exchange! I spent the day with Sister
Ranck. We saw lots of Less Actives and talked to some crazy people. As
you do. I learned so much about how I can become a better missionary
and that no matter what there are things we can do to have the spirit
with us more powerfully. Also, I cut her hair. It went fairly well.
Maybe I should just go to beauty school when I get home?? 😉

Saturday we came home and we had a pretty busy day but had found no
new investigators for the week. We were having a competition with the
G1 elders (Elder Cook and Elder Stoor) of who could find the could
find the most investigators that day. The winner got ice cream, so
anyone who knows me knew that I couldn't lose. Like there was no
chance of us losing. So we found a couple new people to teach, but the
coolest guy was named Trian. And he is a miracle!! He is older and
from Romania, he speaks only a little English. However, he speaks
Italian, French, Spanish, and Romanian. So he can understand a lot
when Sister Cardoso speaks in Portugese! HOW COOL IS THAT? He came to
church with us the next morning and we are meeting up with him
tomorrow. ☺️

Today, we got the ice cream that the Elders owed us. 😏 and we went to
a Sikh Templein Gravesend!! It was beautiful!

Anyway, love you all so much! I love this work, I love the Saviour,
and I love this gospel! I'm so grateful for the opportunity to be able
to serve full time.
Til next week,

KIZZY IS THE BOMB

Hello my people!!

So this week has been SO AWESOME!!

To start out, Kizzy got baptised! WAHOOOO!!!
Fun fact: Kizzy is vegan.
So we (Kizzy, Sister Cardoso, a member named Tracy, and I) made vegan
food on Friday for her baptism on Saturday! That stuff is so good... I
told her I would consider going vegan it I wasn't on my mission. Then
I remembered milk... And I think I've overcome my desire to go vegan.
My mom did always say I would make a good vegetarian though.
Her baptism was perfect! Lots of people were there, the water was
warm, she went all the way under the first time, it really couldn't
have gone better! Elder Stoor, one of the Elders from the Gillingham
1st ward, baptised her. She is now preparing to go to the temple and
is so excited to learn more about the gospel and the Book of Mormon.
She just texted us last night telling us how much she loves 2 Nephi 2.
Man she is so good!! I firmly believe her and I will be friends
forever.
Then we had another miracle on Friday. These people called us one
night early in the week at 1:00am. It woke me up, I didn't recognise
the number and didn't answer it of course, and just went back to bed.
Then the next day the same number texted us and said they wanted to
meet us, we were kind of scared to be honest but decided we would go
meet with them. We went with Brother Mannouch (ward mission leader) on
Friday. It was Chas, his sister Rebecca, and her partner Tom. They
were so sincere and so excited to learn about the Book of Mormon! We
even put Tom and Rebecca on date to be baptised on May 28th! The Lord
is definitely in the details of this work and we couldn't do it
without him!!
Sorry this is short, we are going to go golfing for one of the Elders
birthdays! Haha it should be interesting.
I love this work, I love the Lord, and I love all of you. I'm
especially grateful for how blessed we are to have temples on the
earth. I know without them and the work that goes on within them, we
wouldn't be able to return to live with Heavenly Father. Will you all
please go once for me? I miss it so much.

YOU GUYS ARE SO AWESOME! Thank you for your prayers and the love and
support we feel from you.

Always in Canterbury.

Hello everyone!!!

This week has been somewhat uneventful, so this might be short. However, we are doing great!! Sister Cardoso is settling in and we have just gotten right to work!
We have SO MUCH fun together! I love her so much and she is hilarious!!

We found a couple new friends this week, Elle and Alex, and we are excited to see them next week! We also got a little creative in our reactivation work, there is a girl here named Clarice who is less active, but her parents are super active and great! We go to their home for dinner but Clarice always runs away when we start to give a lesson or anything like that. She is also going to college for hairdressing, so Sister Cardoso and I came up with the perfect solution! If she dyed my hair, she would HAVE to sit and listen to us 😏😂 so I took one for the team. But she definitely felt the spirit and it was all worth it! Side note to that story: we started doing my hair a little later than planned because both of us were running late, so I had to come home with the foils still in. That was interesting!

I guess I should also explain the subject line of this email. We went to Canterbury last monday for p-day, awesome as always except they wouldn't let us in the cathedral 😔 then we were back there on Friday for Zone Meeting, then AGAIN on Saturday because Kizzy came with us to a baptism they were having there!

And the best news of the whole week: KIZZY IS GETTING BAPTISED NEXT SATURDAY!!! Keep her in your prayers and I will tell you the story of her baptism next week!

I love you all so much! This week I'm especially grateful for the Book or Mormon! We can change so much as we take what we learn  and apply it into our lives. Isn't that exciting?! I love this gospel, I love this work, I love my Saviour!!

IM A MUM! ❤️

Hello my peeps!!

I love you all so much! WASN'T CONFERENCE AMAZING?! I learned so much!! I'm so grateful that even though I'm all the way across the pond, I can still hear the prophets and apostles and receive guidance and direction through the spirit. I can't wait to study each talk so I can learn more! We all LOVED Elder Stevenson's talk about keys, and we decided this week as we go finding we are going to ask people about their keys, to their cars and their homes, and then relate it to how important it is that we have the priesthood keys restored to the earth!

As you all know, I got my trainee this week and you guys she is AMAZING! Like so amazing it's not even funny. Her name is Sister Cardoso and she is from Brazil. She has never  taken an English class and was only in the MTC for 3 weeks but speaks so well!! The spirit is so strong when she teaches and she has so much knowledge. She is so excited to serve the Lord and is so diligent! I'm pretty sure President sent her here to train me! We have so much fun together!

When we went to get them we met at St Pancras station like normal transfers, then Sister Johannes (aka Jopanna) and I rode the tubes to South Kensington. We were having the trainers meeting and eating lunch like normal, assuming we would be waiting for them for about another hour or two hours when the Assistants, Elder Williams and Elder Chronister, ran into the cultural hall shouting "THEY'RE HERE" we got shuffled out the back door and hid in a stairwell for about 15 minutes while they all came in until we could go out into another room while they had their new missionary meeting. 😂 it was classic.

We have been so busy since Wednesday! Running everywhere and teaching everyone and flip it's crazy! We are working really closely with Kizzy right now. She is seriously my favourite person! I have never bonded this much with an investigator ever. She isn't just someone I'm teaching, or even another child of God, she is my friend. I know I'm here for a reason, and if she is the only reason, then so be it! She teaches me a lot and I hope I teach her the same! I have a feeling we will be friends for a LONG TIME ☺️

Well, I should end this before it turns into a book. I love you all so much! I know without a doubt that the prophets and apostles are called of God and hold all the keys necessary for us to receive the ordinances that enable us to walk back into the presence of our Heavenly Father. This gospel is the only thing that can bring real hope and peace into our lives. I know the Saviour lives. He loves me and He loves each of you. He stands by us everyday as we face the crazy things life throws at us. The Book of Mormon literally teaches us EVERYTHING and I have especially seen that this week.

Love you all lots!!
